Auction result well in line with expectations
The work The Posthumous Child by Eleanor Fortescue Brickdale was auctioned at Sothebys in London in June 2020. The price achieved of GBP 12,500.00 (€ 13,766.58) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 10,000.00 – 15,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Eleanor Fortescue Brickdale - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work And all generations shall call her blessed, which sold at auction in December 2020 for GBP 40,000.00 (€ 44,683.57).
