Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work Bramante Présentant Les Plans De Saint-Pierre Du Vatican Au Pape by Edwin Howland Blashfield was auctioned at Sothebys in Paris in June 2008, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of EUR 3,000.00 – 4,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for EUR 1,875.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Edwin Howland Blashfield achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Trumpets of Missouri in May 2014 with an auction result of USD 149,000.00 (€ 109,237.54).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit Bramante Présentant Les Plans De Saint-Pierre Du Vatican Au Pape von Edwin Howland Blashfield im Juni 2008 bei Sothebys in Paris versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von EUR 3.000,00 – 4.000,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für EUR 1.875,00 den Besitzer. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Edwin Howland Blashfield erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Trumpets of Missouri im Mai 2014 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 149.000,00 (€ 109.237,54).
