Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
In June 2001 Christies in New York held the auction American Paintings and Sculpture, which included the work Study Of A Head by Edwin Howland Blashfield. Here, the upper estimate of USD 3,000.00 was slightly exceeded - the artwork found a new owner for USD 3,290.00 (€ 3,882.46). Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Edwin Howland Blashfield achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Trumpets of Missouri in May 2014 with an auction result of USD 149,000.00 (€ 109,237.54).
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Im Juni 2001 führte Christies in New York die Auktion American Paintings and Sculpture durch, in der auch die Arbeit Study Of A Head von Edwin Howland Blashfield zur Versteigerung kam. Dabei wurde der obere Schätzpreis von USD 3.000,00 leicht übertroffen – das Kunstwerk fand für USD 3.290,00 (€ 3.882,46) einen neuen Besitzer. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Edwin Howland Blashfield erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Trumpets of Missouri im Mai 2014 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 149.000,00 (€ 109.237,54).
