Auction result well in line with expectations
In July this year Bonhams in Los Angeles held the auction Modern British and Irish Art, which included the work Portrait of Eva Leech by Edward Wolfe. The price achieved of GBP 3,584.00 (€ 4,181.44) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 3,000.00 – 5,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Edward Wolfe - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Portrait of Curtis Thomas, which sold at auction in July 2006 for GBP 9,600.00 (€ 14,053.27).
