Upper estimate price exceeded by more than 100%
This artwork by Edward Wolfe achieved an unexpectedly high price at Bonhams in Los Angeles in July this year. In the Modern British and Irish Art auction, the work Portrait of a Young Man sold for GBP 6,144.00 (€ 7,168.19) - well above the upper estimate of GBP 3,000.00. Despite this good result, it is not the highest hammer price for an artwork by Edward Wolfe; that achieved among the auctions we observed the lot Portrait of Curtis Thomas sold at auction in July 2006 with the realized price of GBP 9,600.00 (€ 14,053.27).
Oberer Schätzpreis um mehr als 100% übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Edward Wolfe erzielte im Juli diesen Jahres bei Bonhams in Los Angeles einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Modern British and Irish Art wurde die Arbeit Portrait of a Young Man für GBP 6.144,00 (€ 7.168,19) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von GBP 3.000,00. Trotz des guten Ergebnisses ist dies nicht der höchste Zuschlag für ein Kunstwerk von Edward Wolfe; den erzielte unter den von uns beobachteten Auktionen die Arbeit Portrait of Curtis Thomas im Juli 2006 mit dem Hammerpreis von GBP 9.600,00 (€ 14.053,27).
