It achieved a price of GBP 2,875.00 (€ 3,458.18), exceeding the upper end of the estimate range by 60%. Admittedly, works by Edward Wolfe have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Portrait of Curtis Thomas in July 2006 with an auction result of GBP 9,600.00 (€ 14,053.27).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 60 % übertroffen
Die Arbeit Tower Bridge, London von Edward Wolfe kam im Dezember 2013 bei Christies in London zur Auktion. Sie erzielte dabei einen Preis von GBP 2.875,00 (€ 3.458,18) und übertraf damit das obere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne um 60%. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Edward Wolfe auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Portrait of Curtis Thomas im Juli 2006 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 9.600,00 (€ 14.053,27).
