In December 2013 Christies in London held the auction Modern British& Irish Art, which included the work Mrs Hutchinson (Omega Workshop Housekeeper) by Edward Wolfe. The »bidding war« ended at GBP 3,875.00 (€ 4,661.02), 29% above the upper estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Edward Wolfe - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Portrait of Curtis Thomas, which sold at auction in July 2006 for GBP 9,600.00 (€ 14,053.27).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 29 % übertroffen
Im Dezember 2013 führte Christies in London die Auktion Modern British& Irish Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit Mrs Hutchinson (Omega Workshop Housekeeper) von Edward Wolfe zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von GBP 3.875,00 (€ 4.661,02) und damit 29% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Für andere Arbeiten von Edward Wolfe mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Portrait of Curtis Thomas beobachtet, die im Juli 2006 für GBP 9.600,00 (€ 14.053,27) versteigert wurde.
