Auction result well in line with expectations
The work French fisher boat off the coast of France by Edward William Cooke was sold in the The Marine Sale auction at Bonhams in London in October last year. The price achieved of GBP 1,211.25 (€ 1,411.09) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 1,000.00 – 1,500.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Edward William Cooke achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Bella Venezia in November 2006 with an auction result of GBP 209,600.00 (€ 311,262.56).
