Auction result misses estimated price range
This work of art by Edward William Cooke could be acquired at Bonhams in London in October last year for an unexpectedly low price. In the The Marine Sale auction, the work A group of 7 pencil drawings of boats including 'Boulogne fishing boat aground', 'Scheveling Shore' and 'Stay-sail of sloop' various sizes, the largest 15.9 x 22.8cm (6 1/4 x 9in). (7) changed hands for GBP 318.75 (€ 371.34) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of GBP 500.00 – 700.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Edward William Cooke achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Bella Venezia in November 2006 with an auction result of GBP 209,600.00 (€ 311,262.56).

Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Edward William Cooke erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Bella Venezia im November 2006 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 209.600,00 (€ 311.262,56).
