Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
The work Caught in a squall off Fort Blockhouse, Portsmouth Harbour by Edward William Cooke was auctioned at Bonhams in London in October last year. Here, the upper estimate of GBP 2,000.00 was slightly exceeded - the artwork found a new owner for GBP 2,167.50 (€ 2,525.11). Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Edward William Cooke achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Bella Venezia in November 2006 with an auction result of GBP 209,600.00 (€ 311,262.56).
