Auction result well in line with expectations
In January 2020 Christies in London held the auction Modern British Art Day Sale, which included the work Les Plats du Jour by Edward Wadsworth. The price achieved of GBP 68,750.00 (€ 81,777.36) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 60,000.00 – 80,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Edward Wadsworth - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Imaginary Harbour I, which sold at auction in November 2016 for GBP 197,000.00 (€ 232,440.63).
