Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Horatio, Ship's Figurehead by Edward Wadsworth was sold in the Modern British and Irish Art Day Sale auction at Christies in New York in October this year. The price achieved of GBP 5,292.00 (€ 6,076.69) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 4,000.00 – 6,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Edward Wadsworth achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Imaginary Harbour I in November 2016 with an auction result of GBP 197,000.00 (€ 232,440.63).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Horatio, Ship's Figurehead von Edward Wadsworth wurde im Oktober diesen Jahres in der Auktion Modern British and Irish Art Day Sale bei Christies in New York versteigert. Der dabei erzielte Preis von GBP 5.292,00 (€ 6.076,69) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit GBP 4.000,00 – 6.000,00 angegeben worden. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Edward Wadsworth erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Imaginary Harbour I im November 2016 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 197.000,00 (€ 232.440,63).
