Auction result well in line with expectations
In March this year Christies in London held the auction Modern British and Irish Art Evening Sale, which included the work Study for Cape of Good Hope by Edward Wadsworth. The price achieved of GBP 100,800.00 (€ 114,679.47) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 80,000.00 – 120,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Edward Wadsworth - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Imaginary Harbour I, which sold at auction in November 2016 for GBP 197,000.00 (€ 232,440.63).
