The »bidding war« ended at EUR 1,488.00 49% above the upper estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Edward Robert Hughes achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work British Dream Idyll (A Valkyrie) in October 2009 with an auction result of USD 866,500.00 (€ 587,258.56).

Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Edward Robert Hughes erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit British Dream Idyll (A Valkyrie) im Oktober 2009 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 866.500,00 (€ 587.258,56).
