Auction result misses estimated price range
This work of art by Edward Robert Hughes could be acquired at Sothebys in London in July 2018 for an unexpectedly low price. In the Victorian, Pre-Raphaelite & British Impressionist Art auction, the work The Transformation Of Callisto changed hands for GBP 8,750.00 (€ 9,810.67) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of GBP 10,000.00 – 15,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Edward Robert Hughes achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work British Dream Idyll (A Valkyrie) in October 2009 with an auction result of USD 866,500.00 (€ 587,258.56).
