Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
In June 2006 Christies in London held the auction British Art on Paper Including 'The Blue Rigi' by J.M.W. Turner, R.A., which included the work Portrait Head of Elsie Bibby by Edward Robert Hughes. Here, the upper estimate of GBP 3,500.00 was slightly exceeded - the artwork found a new owner for GBP 3,720.00 (€ 5,382.78). Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Edward Robert Hughes achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work British Dream Idyll (A Valkyrie) in October 2009 with an auction result of USD 866,500.00 (€ 587,258.56).
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Im Juni 2006 führte Christies in London die Auktion British Art on Paper Including 'The Blue Rigi' by J.M.W. Turner, R.A. durch, in der auch die Arbeit Portrait Head of Elsie Bibby von Edward Robert Hughes zur Versteigerung kam. Dabei wurde der obere Schätzpreis von GBP 3.500,00 leicht übertroffen – das Kunstwerk fand für GBP 3.720,00 (€ 5.382,78) einen neuen Besitzer. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Edward Robert Hughes erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit British Dream Idyll (A Valkyrie) im Oktober 2009 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 866.500,00 (€ 587.258,56).
