Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Night; and Day by Edward Robert Hughes was auctioned at Christies in London in June 2004. The price achieved of GBP 74,090.00 (€ 110,268.11) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 60,000.00 – 80,000.00. Admittedly, works by Edward Robert Hughes have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work British Dream Idyll (A Valkyrie) in October 2009 with an auction result of USD 866,500.00 (€ 587,258.56).

Die Arbeit Night; and Day von Edward Robert Hughes kam im Juni 2004 bei Christies in London zur Auktion. Der dabei erzielte Preis von GBP 74.090,00 (€ 110.268,11) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit GBP 60.000,00 – 80.000,00 angegeben worden. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Edward Robert Hughes auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit British Dream Idyll (A Valkyrie) im Oktober 2009 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 866.500,00 (€ 587.258,56).
