A top price for Edward Bannister
When the work The Palmer River by Edward Bannister was auctioned at Sothebys in New York in May 2021, the result exceeded expectations many times over. The upper estimate was set at a - in retrospect quite modest - USD 70,000.00 but the actual price achieved was more than three times as high at USD 277,200.00 (€ 227,324.91). This high result makes The Palmer River the most expensive artwork by Edward Bannister that we have observed at auctions so far.
