Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Cows at the Watering Hole by Edward Bannister was sold in the American Art auction at Bonhams in Paris in May this year. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 40,000.00 – 60,000.00, the actual price achieved of USD 40,960.00 (€ 38,445.65) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Admittedly, works by Edward Bannister have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work The Palmer River in May 2021 with an auction result of USD 277,200.00 (€ 227,324.91).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Cows at the Watering Hole von Edward Bannister wurde im Mai diesen Jahres in der Auktion American Art bei Bonhams in Paris versteigert. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 40.000,00 – 60.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von USD 40.960,00 (€ 38.445,65) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Edward Bannister auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit The Palmer River im Mai 2021 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 277.200,00 (€ 227.324,91).
