Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Harbor View by Edward Bannister was sold in the Fine American Paintings, Drawings and Sculpture auction at Christies in New York in September 2011. The price achieved of USD 8,750.00 (€ 6,506.06) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 7,000.00 – 10,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Edward Bannister achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work The Palmer River in May 2021 with an auction result of USD 277,200.00 (€ 227,324.91).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Harbor View von Edward Bannister wurde im September 2011 in der Auktion Fine American Paintings, Drawings and Sculpture bei Christies in New York versteigert. Der dabei erzielte Preis von USD 8.750,00 (€ 6.506,06) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit USD 7.000,00 – 10.000,00 angegeben worden. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Edward Bannister erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit The Palmer River im Mai 2021 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 277.200,00 (€ 227.324,91).
