In March 2019 Sothebys in New York held the auction American Art, which included the work Wooded Scene by Edward Henry Potthast. The result of USD 15,000.00 (€ 13,359.46) was exactly at the lower end of the estimate range of USD 15,000.00 – 25,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Edward Henry Potthast achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work The Water's Fine in May 2007 with an auction result of USD 1,384,000.00 (€ 1,028,766.82).
Zuschlag beim unteren Schätzpreis
Im März 2019 führte Sothebys in New York die Auktion American Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit Wooded Scene von Edward Henry Potthast zur Versteigerung kam. Das dabei erzielte Ergebnis von USD 15.000,00 (€ 13.359,46) entsprach exakt dem unteren Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von USD 15.000,00 – 25.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Edward Henry Potthast erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit The Water's Fine im Mai 2007 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 1.384.000,00 (€ 1.028.766,82).
