Auction result well in line with expectations
The work The Bathing Hour by Edward Henry Potthast was sold in the American Art auction at Bonhams in New York in May 2021. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 50,000.00 – 70,000.00, the actual price achieved of USD 50,312.50 (€ 41,260.05) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Edward Henry Potthast achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work The Water's Fine in May 2007 with an auction result of USD 1,384,000.00 (€ 1,028,766.82).

Die Arbeit The Bathing Hour von Edward Henry Potthast wurde im Mai 2021 in der Auktion American Art bei Bonhams in New York versteigert. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 50.000,00 – 70.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von USD 50.312,50 (€ 41.260,05) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen.
