Auction result well in line with expectations
In June this year Bonhams held the auction Prints and Multiples, which included the work Covent Garden Foreign Fruit Market, From Six London Markets by Edward Bawden. The price achieved of GBP 1,280.00 (€ 1,489.70) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 1,000.00 – 1,500.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Edward Bawden achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work The English Pub in November 2006 with an auction result of GBP 36,000.00 (€ 53,461.13).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Juni diesen Jahres führte Bonhams die Auktion Prints and Multiples durch, in der auch die Arbeit Covent Garden Foreign Fruit Market, From Six London Markets von Edward Bawden zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von GBP 1.280,00 (€ 1.489,70) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit GBP 1.000,00 – 1.500,00 angegeben worden. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Edward Bawden erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit The English Pub im November 2006 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 36.000,00 (€ 53.461,13).
