This artwork by Edward Bawden achieved an unexpectedly high price at Bonhams in London in November this year. In the Modern British and Irish Art auction, the work 'Are you a common giraffe?' said Alice timidly... sold for GBP 3,584.00 (€ 4,153.08) - well above the upper estimate of GBP 2,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Edward Bawden achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work The English Pub in November 2006 with an auction result of GBP 36,000.00 (€ 53,461.13).

Dieses Kunstwerk von Edward Bawden erzielte im November diesen Jahres bei Bonhams in London einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Modern British and Irish Art wurde die Arbeit 'Are you a common giraffe?' said Alice timidly... für GBP 3.584,00 (€ 4.153,08) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von GBP 2.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Edward Bawden erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit The English Pub im November 2006 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 36.000,00 (€ 53.461,13).
