Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work Four Works: Two Untitled And Two Composición Ii And Iii Tempera by Eduardo MacEntyre was auctioned at Sothebys in New York in May 2008, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of USD 12,000.00 – 18,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for USD 11,875.00 (€ 7,631.75). Admittedly, works by Eduardo MacEntyre have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Pintura Generativa (Desarrollo De Un Tema Circular) in November 2014 with an auction result of USD 50,000.00 (€ 40,199.39).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit Four Works: Two Untitled And Two Composición Ii And Iii Tempera von Eduardo MacEntyre im Mai 2008 bei Sothebys in New York versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 12.000,00 – 18.000,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für USD 11.875,00 (€ 7.631,75) den Besitzer. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Eduardo MacEntyre auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Pintura Generativa (Desarrollo De Un Tema Circular) im November 2014 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 50.000,00 (€ 40.199,39).
