Auction result well in line with expectations
In May 2005 Christies in London held the auction MARITIME PICTURES, which included the work The Canadian Pacific liner Monteagle at sea off Le Havre by Edouard Adam. The price achieved of GBP 1,800.00 (€ 2,657.36) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 1,500.00 – 2,500.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Edouard Adam - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work The Charles M. Watts at sea, which sold at auction in January 2008 for USD 10,000.00 (€ 6,738.09).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Mai 2005 führte Christies in London die Auktion MARITIME PICTURES durch, in der auch die Arbeit The Canadian Pacific liner Monteagle at sea off Le Havre von Edouard Adam zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von GBP 1.800,00 (€ 2.657,36) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit GBP 1.500,00 – 2.500,00 angegeben worden. Für andere Arbeiten von Edouard Adam mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit The Charles M. Watts at sea beobachtet, die im Januar 2008 für USD 10.000,00 (€ 6.738,09) versteigert wurde.
