Auction result misses estimated price range
This work of art by Edmund Morison Wimperis could be acquired at Christies in London in December 2008 for an unexpectedly low price. In the British Art on Paper auction, the work Driving home the flock, Dartmoor changed hands for GBP 1,250.00 (€ 1,312.86) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of GBP 2,000.00 – 3,000.00. Admittedly, works by Edmund Morison Wimperis have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Across the Moor in June 2000 with an auction result of GBP 3,525.00 (€ 5,587.56).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Dieses Kunstwerk von Edmund Morison Wimperis konnte im Dezember 2008 bei Christies in London für einen unerwartet niedrigen Preis ersteigert werden. In der Auktion British Art on Paper wechselte die Arbeit Driving home the flock, Dartmoor für GBP 1.250,00 (€ 1.312,86) den Besitzer – und verfehlte damit das untere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von GBP 2.000,00 – 3.000,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Edmund Morison Wimperis auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Across the Moor im Juni 2000 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 3.525,00 (€ 5.587,56).
