In February 2020 Sothebys in London held the auction Contemporary Art Day Auction, which included the work Take It From Me by Edmund de Waal. The result of GBP 25,000.00 (€ 28,975.06) was exactly at the lower end of the estimate range of GBP 25,000.00 – 35,000.00. Admittedly, works by Edmund de Waal have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work A short history of the shadow in October 2019 with an auction result of GBP 118,750.00 (€ 137,741.48).
Zuschlag beim unteren Schätzpreis
Im Februar 2020 führte Sothebys in London die Auktion Contemporary Art Day Auction durch, in der auch die Arbeit Take It From Me von Edmund de Waal zur Versteigerung kam. Das dabei erzielte Ergebnis von GBP 25.000,00 (€ 28.975,06) entsprach exakt dem unteren Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von GBP 25.000,00 – 35.000,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Edmund de Waal auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit A short history of the shadow im Oktober 2019 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 118.750,00 (€ 137.741,48).
