In September 2005 Christies in New York held the auction Fine American Paintings, Drawings and Sculpture, which included the work Gathering Storm by Edmund Darch Lewis. The »bidding war« ended at USD 11,400.00 (€ 9,454.30), 43% above the upper estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Edmund Darch Lewis - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Newport Harbor, Twilight, which sold at auction in September 2009 for USD 50,000.00 (€ 34,176.35).

Im September 2005 führte Christies in New York die Auktion Fine American Paintings, Drawings and Sculpture durch, in der auch die Arbeit Gathering Storm von Edmund Darch Lewis zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von USD 11.400,00 (€ 9.454,30) und damit 43% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Für andere Arbeiten von Edmund Darch Lewis mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Newport Harbor, Twilight beobachtet, die im September 2009 für USD 50.000,00 (€ 34.176,35) versteigert wurde.
