This artwork by Edmund Berninger achieved an unexpectedly high price at Sothebys in London in June 2010. In the 19th Century European Paintings Including German, Austrian and Central European Paintings, The Orientalist Sale, Spanish Painting and the Scandinavian Sale auction, the work German the Desert Caravan sold for GBP 27,500.00 (€ 33,442.56) - well above the upper estimate of GBP 15,000.00. Despite this good result, it is not the highest hammer price for an artwork by Edmund Berninger; that achieved among the auctions we observed the lot A View of the Bay of Sorrento sold at auction in October 2008 with the realized price of USD 52,500.00 (€ 41,397.26).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 83 % übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Edmund Berninger erzielte im Juni 2010 bei Sothebys in London einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion 19th Century European Paintings Including German, Austrian and Central European Paintings, The Orientalist Sale, Spanish Painting and the Scandinavian Sale wurde die Arbeit German the Desert Caravan für GBP 27.500,00 (€ 33.442,56) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von GBP 15.000,00. Trotz des guten Ergebnisses ist dies nicht der höchste Zuschlag für ein Kunstwerk von Edmund Berninger; den erzielte unter den von uns beobachteten Auktionen die Arbeit A View of the Bay of Sorrento im Oktober 2008 mit dem Hammerpreis von USD 52.500,00 (€ 41.397,26).
