Auction result well in line with expectations
In July 2008 Christies in London held the auction 19th Century European Art including Orientalist and Spanish Art, which included the work Sorrento by Edmund Berninger. It changed hands for a price of GBP 18,750.00 (€ 23,822.09) achieving a result in the upper range of the estimate price range of GBP 15,000.00 – 20,000.00. Other works by Edmund Berninger have already achieved higher auction prices, for example, in October 2008 the work A View of the Bay of Sorrento was auctioned for USD 52,500.00 (€ 41,397.26).

Im Juli 2008 führte Christies in London die Auktion 19th Century European Art including Orientalist and Spanish Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit Sorrento von Edmund Berninger zur Versteigerung kam. Dabei wechselte sie für einen Preis von GBP 18.750,00 (€ 23.822,09) den Besitzer und erzielte damit ein Ergebnis im oberen Bereich der Schätzpreisspanne von GBP 15.000,00 – 20.000,00. Andere Arbeiten von Edmund Berninger konnten bereits höhere Auktionspreise erzielen, so wurde im Oktober 2008 die Arbeit A View of the Bay of Sorrento für USD 52.500,00 (€ 41.397,26) versteigert.
