etching with hand-colouring in watercolour, 1910, on wove paper, signed and titled in pencil, numbered 32/40, inscribed 'malgré ma trentaine je songe parfois à l'âge ou en donnant une 'cens' on pouvait faire trois tours sur un cheval de bois. Aussi j'etais plus heureux', with margins, with soft discolouration and staining in the margins, edges uneven, otherwise in good condition, unexamined out of the frame

Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Le Caroussel by Edgard Tytgat was auctioned at Christies in Amsterdam in May 2011. The price achieved of EUR 1,250.00 was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as EUR 1,000.00 – 1,500.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Edgard Tytgat achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work L'Espionne in December 2006 with an auction result of EUR 108,000.00.
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Le Caroussel von Edgard Tytgat kam im Mai 2011 bei Christies in Amsterdam zur Auktion. Der dabei erzielte Preis von EUR 1.250,00 lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit EUR 1.000,00 – 1.500,00 angegeben worden. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Edgard Tytgat erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit L'Espionne im Dezember 2006 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von EUR 108.000,00.
