Auction result misses estimated price range
This work of art by E. J. Bellocq could be acquired at Christies in New York in April 2013 for an unexpectedly low price. In the Photographs auction, the work Untitled, From 'Storyville Portraits', C. 1912 changed hands for USD 7,500.00 (€ 5,695.63) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of USD 8,000.00 – 12,000.00. Admittedly, works by E. J. Bellocq have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Storyville Portrait, New Orleans, c. 1911-1913 in October this year with an auction result of USD 56,700.00 (€ 53,652.54).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Dieses Kunstwerk von E. J. Bellocq konnte im April 2013 bei Christies in New York für einen unerwartet niedrigen Preis ersteigert werden. In der Auktion Photographs wechselte die Arbeit Untitled, From 'Storyville Portraits', C. 1912 für USD 7.500,00 (€ 5.695,63) den Besitzer – und verfehlte damit das untere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von USD 8.000,00 – 12.000,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von E. J. Bellocq auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Storyville Portrait, New Orleans, c. 1911-1913 im Oktober diesen Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 56.700,00 (€ 53.652,54).
