Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Untitled, From 'Storyville Portraits', C. 1912 by E. J. Bellocq was sold in the Photographs auction at Christies in New York in April 2013. The price achieved of USD 12,500.00 (€ 9,492.71) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 10,000.00 – 15,000.00. Admittedly, works by E. J. Bellocq have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Storyville Portrait, New Orleans, c. 1911-1913 in October this year with an auction result of USD 56,700.00 (€ 53,652.54).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Untitled, From 'Storyville Portraits', C. 1912 von E. J. Bellocq wurde im April 2013 in der Auktion Photographs bei Christies in New York versteigert. Der dabei erzielte Preis von USD 12.500,00 (€ 9.492,71) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit USD 10.000,00 – 15.000,00 angegeben worden. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von E. J. Bellocq auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Storyville Portrait, New Orleans, c. 1911-1913 im Oktober diesen Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 56.700,00 (€ 53.652,54).
