In April 2013 Christies in New York held the auction Photographs, which included the work Untitled, From 'Storyville Portraits', 1912 by E. J. Bellocq. The result of USD 15,000.00 (€ 11,391.25) was exactly at the lower end of the estimate range of USD 15,000.00 – 25,000.00. Admittedly, works by E. J. Bellocq have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Storyville Portrait, New Orleans, c. 1911-1913 in October this year with an auction result of USD 56,700.00 (€ 53,652.54).
Zuschlag beim unteren Schätzpreis
Im April 2013 führte Christies in New York die Auktion Photographs durch, in der auch die Arbeit Untitled, From 'Storyville Portraits', 1912 von E. J. Bellocq zur Versteigerung kam. Das dabei erzielte Ergebnis von USD 15.000,00 (€ 11.391,25) entsprach exakt dem unteren Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von USD 15.000,00 – 25.000,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von E. J. Bellocq auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Storyville Portrait, New Orleans, c. 1911-1913 im Oktober diesen Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 56.700,00 (€ 53.652,54).
