Auction result well in line with expectations
In December 2011 Christies in New York held the auction Photographs, which included the work New Orleans, c. 1911-1913 by E. J. Bellocq. It changed hands for a price of USD 2,375.00 (€ 1,830.73) achieving a result in the upper range of the estimate price range of USD 1,500.00 – 2,500.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by E. J. Bellocq achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Storyville Portrait, New Orleans, c. 1911-1913 in October this year with an auction result of USD 56,700.00 (€ 53,652.54).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Dezember 2011 führte Christies in New York die Auktion Photographs durch, in der auch die Arbeit New Orleans, c. 1911-1913 von E. J. Bellocq zur Versteigerung kam. Dabei wechselte sie für einen Preis von USD 2.375,00 (€ 1.830,73) den Besitzer und erzielte damit ein Ergebnis im oberen Bereich der Schätzpreisspanne von USD 1.500,00 – 2.500,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von E. J. Bellocq erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Storyville Portrait, New Orleans, c. 1911-1913 im Oktober diesen Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 56.700,00 (€ 53.652,54).
