Auction result well in line with expectations
The work "Tiggers Can'T Climb Trees" by Ernest Shepard was sold in the The Art of Illustration - From the Collection of Michael Winner auction at Sothebys in London in December 2012. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 35,000.00 – 55,000.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 37,250.00 (€ 45,939.60) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Ernest Shepard - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work "Here Is Edward Bear, Coming Downstairs Now, Bump, Bump, Bump, On The Back Of His Head, Behind Christopher Robin.", which sold at auction in December 2012 for GBP 139,250.00 (€ 171,733.92).

Die Arbeit "Tiggers Can'T Climb Trees" von Ernest Shepard wurde im Dezember 2012 in der Auktion The Art of Illustration - From the Collection of Michael Winner bei Sothebys in London versteigert. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 35.000,00 – 55.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von GBP 37.250,00 (€ 45.939,60) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen.
