Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Falls Road Olinda by Max Meldrum was auctioned at Christies in Melbourne in May 2001. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of AUD 4,000.00 – 6,000.00, the actual price achieved of AUD 4,112.50 (€ 2,465.07) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Max Meldrum achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Pacé in May 2001 with an auction result of AUD 47,000.00 (€ 28,172.21).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Falls Road Olinda von Max Meldrum kam im Mai 2001 bei Christies in Melbourne zur Auktion. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von AUD 4.000,00 – 6.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von AUD 4.112,50 (€ 2.465,07) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen.
