Auction result misses estimated price range

When this work without title by Dove Bradshaw was auctioned at Sothebys in New York in June 2013, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of USD 2,000.00 – 3,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for USD 625.00 (€ 480.40). Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Dove Bradshaw achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Nothing II in May last year with an auction result of USD 21,420.00 (€ 19,960.86).

Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne

Als diese Arbeit ohne Titel von Dove Bradshaw im Juni 2013 bei Sothebys in New York versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 2.000,00 – 3.000,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für USD 625,00 (€ 480,40) den Besitzer. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Dove Bradshaw erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Nothing II im Mai letzten Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 21.420,00 (€ 19.960,86).
