Auction result well in line with expectations
In March 2010 Sothebys in New York held the auction Contemporary Art, which included the work Strays by Doug Safranek. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 4,000.00 – 6,000.00, the actual price achieved of USD 4,063.00 (€ 3,003.84) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Doug Safranek - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Small Change, which sold at auction in September 2019 for USD 11,250.00 (€ 10,316.37).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im März 2010 führte Sothebys in New York die Auktion Contemporary Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit Strays von Doug Safranek zur Versteigerung kam. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 4.000,00 – 6.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von USD 4.063,00 (€ 3.003,84) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Für andere Arbeiten von Doug Safranek mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Small Change beobachtet, die im September 2019 für USD 11.250,00 (€ 10.316,37) versteigert wurde.
