The work Nature morte au couteau by Dora Maar was sold in the Impressionist and Modern Art Day Sale auction at Christies in New York in May this year. It achieved a price of USD 16,380.00 (€ 15,374.51), exceeding the upper end of the estimate range by 64%. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Dora Maar achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Portrait De Picasso in December 2012 with an auction result of EUR 360,750.00.

Die Arbeit Nature morte au couteau von Dora Maar wurde im Mai diesen Jahres in der Auktion Impressionist and Modern Art Day Sale bei Christies in New York versteigert. Sie erzielte dabei einen Preis von USD 16.380,00 (€ 15.374,51) und übertraf damit das obere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne um 64%. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Dora Maar erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Portrait De Picasso im Dezember 2012 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von EUR 360.750,00.
