In October this year China Guardian held the auction Asian 20th Century and Contemporary Art, which included the work Poem Of Wang Wei-Apricot(Painted In 2019) by Dong Shaw-Hwei. The »bidding war« ended at HKD 492,000.00 (€ 59,498.11), 37% above the upper estimate. Admittedly, works by Dong Shaw-Hwei have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Pink Camellia In The Morning (Painted In 2014) in April this year with an auction result of HKD 540,000.00 (€ 551,445.65).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 37 % übertroffen
Im Oktober diesen Jahres führte China Guardian die Auktion Asian 20th Century and Contemporary Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit Poem Of Wang Wei-Apricot(Painted In 2019) von Dong Shaw-Hwei zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von HKD 492.000,00 (€ 59.498,11) und damit 37% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Dong Shaw-Hwei auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Pink Camellia In The Morning (Painted In 2014) im April diesen Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von HKD 540.000,00 (€ 551.445,65).
