This artwork by Dirk Langendijk achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in London in July this year. In the Old Master and British Drawings and Watercolours auction, the work The siege of a fortified city sold for GBP 4,410.00 (€ 5,145.13) - well above the upper estimate of GBP 1,500.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Dirk Langendijk - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work A Skirmish Between Cavalry Officers And Footsoldiers With Bayonets, which sold at auction in July 2008 for GBP 9,375.00 (€ 11,911.04).

Für andere Arbeiten von Dirk Langendijk mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit A Skirmish Between Cavalry Officers And Footsoldiers With Bayonets beobachtet, die im Juli 2008 für GBP 9.375,00 (€ 11.911,04) versteigert wurde.
