Auction result well in line with expectations

The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 4,000.00 – 6,000.00, the actual price achieved of USD 4,375.00 (€ 3,819.63) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Dirk Langendijk - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work A Skirmish Between Cavalry Officers And Footsoldiers With Bayonets, which sold at auction in July 2008 for GBP 9,375.00 (€ 11,911.04).
