Artwork auctioned at three times the upper estimate price
The work Selected Images by Désiré Charnay was worth USD 27,500.00 (€ 24,036.36) to a buyer in April 2016. This price was achieved in the auction Photographs at Sothebys in New York and exceeded the previously set upper estimate of USD 7,000.00 many times over. Despite this good result, it is not the highest hammer price for an artwork by Désiré Charnay; that achieved among the auctions we observed the lot Raharla, Minister to the Queen sold at auction in April 2017 with the realized price of USD 32,500.00 (€ 29,830.20).
