Auction result well in line with expectations
The work New York at Night by Denyse Thomasos was sold in the Post-War & Contemporary Art auction at Bonhams in May this year. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 12,000.00 – 18,000.00, the actual price achieved of USD 12,750.00 (€ 11,967.34) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Denyse Thomasos achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Spin in May last year with an auction result of USD 302,400.00 (€ 281,800.39).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit New York at Night von Denyse Thomasos wurde im Mai diesen Jahres in der Auktion Post-War & Contemporary Art bei Bonhams versteigert. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 12.000,00 – 18.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von USD 12.750,00 (€ 11.967,34) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Denyse Thomasos erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Spin im Mai letzten Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 302.400,00 (€ 281.800,39).
