Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Inside Wyoming by Denyse Thomasos was auctioned at Phillips in New York in May this year. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 60,000.00 – 80,000.00, the actual price achieved of USD 63,500.00 (€ 59,602.03) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Admittedly, works by Denyse Thomasos have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Spin in May last year with an auction result of USD 302,400.00 (€ 281,800.39).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Inside Wyoming von Denyse Thomasos kam im Mai diesen Jahres bei Phillips in New York zur Auktion. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 60.000,00 – 80.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von USD 63.500,00 (€ 59.602,03) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Denyse Thomasos auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Spin im Mai letzten Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 302.400,00 (€ 281.800,39).
