Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work Reflex Ii by David Row was auctioned at Sothebys in New York in June 2012, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of USD 3,000.00 – 5,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for USD 1,250.00 (€ 986.74). Admittedly, works by David Row have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Slow Expansion #545 in March 2008 with an auction result of GBP 3,750.00 (€ 4,710.93).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit Reflex Ii von David Row im Juni 2012 bei Sothebys in New York versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 3.000,00 – 5.000,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für USD 1.250,00 (€ 986,74) den Besitzer. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von David Row auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Slow Expansion #545 im März 2008 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 3.750,00 (€ 4.710,93).
