This artwork by David Octavius Hill achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in New York in February 2016. In the Modern Visions: Exceptional Photographs auction, the work Miss Munro, daughter of Sheriff Munro, c. 1845 sold for USD 3,000.00 (€ 2,760.40) - well above the upper estimate of USD 1,500.00. Despite this good result, it is not the highest hammer price for an artwork by David Octavius Hill; that achieved among the auctions we observed the lot The Mad Horticulturist, William McNab, Keeper of the Royal Botanical Garden, Edinburgh, c. 1845 sold at auction in February 2016 with the realized price of USD 3,250.00 (€ 2,990.43).

Dieses Kunstwerk von David Octavius Hill erzielte im Februar 2016 bei Christies in New York einen unerwartet hohen Preis.
