Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Portrait of A Young Man by David Michael Shannon was auctioned at Christies in Melbourne in April 2006. The price achieved of AUD 4,780.00 (€ 2,875.04) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as AUD 4,000.00 – 6,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by David Michael Shannon - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Untitled (City), which sold at auction in August 2003 for AUD 15,275.00 (€ 9,023.73).
